Xiaomi 11i 5G is avaible in two stoage options – 6GB/ 128GB and 8GB/ 128GB. It comes in four colour options – Camo Green, Pacific Pearl, Purple Mist, and Stealth Black. On the other hand, Realme 9 Pro has three storage units – 6GB/ 128GB, 8GB/ 128GB, and 8GB/ 256GB. It comes in Midnight Black, Aurora Green, Sunrise Blue colour options. Design

Xiaomi 11i design
Xiaomi 11i 5G comes with an iPhone-like look with flat edges and a flat rear panel that has a square-shaped camera module. The device has a 3.5mm headphone jack, a microphone, and a speaker grill on the top. The device houses a SIM tray and USB Type-C port paired with a bottom-firing speaker. The volume rockers are on the right side. The 11i has a 6.67-inch display with a centred punch-hole cutout.

Realme 9 Pro+ design
The Realme 9 Pro+, on the other hand, comes with a curved back and round edges. It has a 3.5mm headphone jack alongside the USB C slot and a speaker grille at the bottom. The device houses a volume rocker on the left paired with a SIM tray and a power button on the left. The Realme 9 Pro+ offers a 6.4-inch display with a punch-hole camera cutout on the left. 

Processor, storage, and RAM

Both Realme 9 Pro+ and Xiaomi 11i 5G come with the quad-core MediaTek Dimensity 920 chipset paired with Mali-G68 MC4 GPU. The Xiaomi 11i comes in two storage options: 6GB/ 128GB and 8GB/ 128GB. Whereas, the Realme 9 Pro+ comes in three storage unit: 6GB/ 128GB, 8GB/ 128GB, and 8GB/ 256GB.

Performance vice, the MediaTek Dimensity 920 chipset is powerful enough to handle day-to-day tasks like social media scrolling, web browsing, and video conferences. It can also handle casual and heavy gaming at medium settings. While both devices should offer similar performance, the Realme 9 Pro+ has a slight advantage in the storage department.

Realme 9 Pro+ has a 6.4-inch FHD+ AMOLED panel with a 1080×2400 pixels resolution, 90Hz refresh rate, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The device has an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Xiaomi 11i 5G offers a faster display thanks to a higher refresh rate compared to Realme 9 Pro+.

Realme 9 Pro+ has triple cameras on the back, with a 50MP f/1.8 primary camera, an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide lens, and a 2MP f/2.4 macro lens. The camera can shoot 4K video at 30fps, 1080p video up to 480fps, and 720p video up to a whopping 960fps. It has a 16MP snapper for selfies and video calls on the front that supports HDR and can shoot 1080p video at 30fps. The highlight of the setup is the 50MP Sony IMX766 sensor that also offers OIS support.

On the other hand, Xiaomi 11i has a triple-camera setup at the rear that includes a remarkable 108MP f/1.9 primary camera, an 8MP f/2.2 ultrawide camera, and a 2MP f/2.4 macro sensor. The camera can capture 4K video at 30fps, 1080p video up to 120fps, and 720p video up to a stunning 960fps. It has a 16MP snapper for selfies and video calls on the front that can shoot 1080p video at 30fps.

Battery

Realme 9 Pro packs a 4,500mAh battery with support for 60W fast charging, which the company claims to fully charge the device in 44 minutes. Whereas, the Xiaomi 11i draws power from a 5,160mAh battery that supports 67W charging. Xiaomi claims that the 67W charging technology of Xiaomi 11i can fully charge the handset in just 13 minutes. Xiaomi 11i has a bigger battery and faster-charging technology than Realme 9 Pro+.

Xiaomi 11i has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm audio jack, dual symmetrical linear speakers, VC cooling, Dolby Atmos, Hi-Res audio, IR blaster, Hi-res wireless certification, X-axis linear vibration, GPS, USB Type-C port, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, 5G, and IP53 rating for dust and water protection. It boots Android 11 based MIUI skin out of the box.

Realme 9 Pro+ features an in-display fingerprint scanner, 3.5mm audio jack, Dolby Atmos dual stereo speakers, vapor chamber cooling system, X-axis linear motor, GPS, USB Type-C port, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi 6, Bluetooth 5.2, and 5G support. It boots Android 12 based Realme UI skin out of the box. Realme 9 Pro+ does not feature IP dust and waterproof ratings like Xiaomi 11i.

Realme 9 Pro+ vs Xiaomi 11i 5G: verdict

By now, it is pretty clear Xiaomi 11i 5G offers more advantages compared to Realme 9 Pro+ at a similar price point. The Xiaomi phone offers a smoother display, bigger battery, faster charging speeds, and a better camera. Although, Realme 9 Pro offers more storage options and delivers similar results in terms of performance.

Both smartphones will provide a good experience in almost every category, from gaming to photography. Xiaomi 11i would be a better pick though.
