Realme today announced its first tablet, the Realme Pad, alongside two new smartphones, the Realme 8s 5G and Realme 8i. The Realme 8s 5G brings the brand new Dimensity 810 chipset under the hood. Meanwhile, the Realme 8i comes with another new Mediatek chipset, the Helio G96. During the Realme launch event today, the company also made an announcement regarding the Realme 9 India launch. Realme has confirmed that the Realme 9 series will launch in 2022 instead of this year.

Realme 9 series coming next year

The company today announced the arrival of its next numbered series during the launch event. As per the announcement, the Realme 9 series will be launching in 2022. However, there’s no exact date or any other information provided during the event. Further, the Realme 8s 5G and Realme 8i would be headlining the numbered series until 2022.

Realme 8s 5G, Realme 8i specifications and price in India

The Realme 8s 5G features a 6.5-inch Full HD+ LCD with a refresh rate of 90Hz. The smartphone is powered by the Dimensity 810 chipset paired with either 6GB/8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It also comes with Dynamic RAM, which can expand RAM up to 13GB. A 5,000mAH battery backs up the smartphone with support for 33W fast charging. A 64MP sensor leads the triple camera setup at the back with an f/1.8 aperture lens, whereas it comes with a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies. It runs Realme UI 2.0 on top of Android 11. The Realme 8s 5G will be available to purchase in two colours, Universe Blue and Universe Purple, for Rs 17,999 (4GB RAM) and Rs 19,999 (6GB RAM) through Flipkart on September 13th.

The Realme 8i comes with a 6.6-inch FHD LCD with a 120Hz refresh rate. Under the hood, it is powered by the Helio G96 chipset paired with either 4GB/6GB RAM and 64GB/128GB of internal storage. The rear camera module includes a 50MP primary camera with two 2MP B&W and macro cameras. The Realme 8i will be available through Flipkart for a starting price of Rs 13,999 on September 14th.
