With the C83 5G, Realme is focusing heavily on endurance and smooth usability. The phone brings a large 7,000mAh battery, a 144Hz display, and a MediaTek Dimensity chipset to the budget segment.

The Realme C83 5G starts at Rs 13,499 in India and will be available in Blooming Purple and Sprouting Green colour options.

The first sale will begin on March 7th at 12 pm via Flipkart, Realme’s official website, and offline retail stores.

One of the biggest highlights of the Realme C83 5G is its 7,000mAh “Titan Battery”, which Realme says is the largest battery offered in its segment. Large batteries have typically been seen in mid-range devices, but brands have recently started bringing 6,000mAh and even 7,000mAh batteries to budget phones as users increasingly prioritise long battery life for gaming, streaming, and social media.

The phone supports 15W PD and 15W DCP charging, which Realme says takes about 180 minutes for a full charge. It also supports 5W wired reverse charging, allowing the device to charge accessories such as earbuds.

Powering the Realme C83 5G is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, built on a 6nm process. This is a popular chipset in the budget segment, known for offering decent backup in terms of performance. The phone comes with 4GB and 6GB LPDDR4X RAM options along with 64GB and 128GB storage. Realme’s Dynamic RAM Expansion feature allows virtual RAM expansion up to 18GB, while storage can be expanded up to 2TB via OTG support.

The Realme C83 5G features a 6.7-inch LCD display with a 144Hz adaptive refresh rate, which should allow smoother scrolling and animations compared to the 90Hz or 120Hz panels typically seen in this price segment. To maintain stable performance and heat dissipation during extended usage, the phone also includes a 5334mm² airflow vapor chamber cooling system, which Realme claims is the largest in its segment.

Realme has also added an AI Outdoor Mode to the C83 5G. This feature is said to automatically boost system performance, increase speaker volume, improve network responsiveness, and enhance display brightness when the phone is used outdoors.

The device features military-grade shock resistance along with an IP64 rating for dust and water resistance, offering protection from accidental drops and splashes. It also comes with a side-mounted fingerprint sensor.

For photography, the phone features a 13MP AI rear camera with features such as Live Photo support. On the front, there is a 5MP selfie camera housed inside a waterdrop-style notch. While functional for basic photography and video calls, the camera setup does feel fairly modest, even by budget smartphone standards, and may not appeal to users who prioritise photography when choosing a device.

The device runs Android 16 with Realme UI 7.0, which is the latest software version bringing updated animations and system optimisations.

On paper, the Realme C83 5G looks positioned for buyers who prioritise battery life and smooth display performance over advanced cameras. The 7,000mAh battery could be a major selling point for users who want a phone that easily lasts through heavy daily usage. The 144Hz display also makes it competitive against other budget 5G phones in the sub-Rs 15,000 category.

However, buyers looking for strong camera performance or faster charging may find better alternatives in the same segment. For users who want long battery endurance, 5G connectivity, and a high refresh rate display at an affordable price, the Realme C83 5G could be a practical option to consider.
