Realme fitness band teased by CEO Madhav Sheth, will launch in India soon

“The Realme fitness band may be similar to the Mi Band and Honor Band in terms of design and functionality”

Realme fitness band will be the next wearable product from Realme. The company had previously confirmed it was working on a fitness tracker, and on Thursday, Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth gave a teaser of the fitness band during the Realme 5i launch event. Sheth gave the first look of the Realme fitness band in yellow, a colour which matches the company’s aesthetics. While details may remain vague, the band may come with a form factor that matches the design of fitness brands from arch-rival Xiaomi and Honor’s band.

As stated above, there wasn’t much disclosed about the Realme fitness band, including its launch in the country. Madhav Sheth ended the event with words “Want to know more about it?” adding that the Realme fitness band will launch “very soon.” It’s clear that the company wants to be more than just the smartphone maker in the country. Apart from the fitness band, Realme is reportedly also working on a smartwatch as well. The Realme smartwatch has bagged Bureau of Indian Standard (BIS) certification, suggesting the company’s first smartwatch might be arriving pretty soon. Sadly, there are no details about the Realme smartwatch as well.

While the wearables segment includes brands like Fitbit and Apple, Xiaomi will be the primary competitor from Realme. Xiaomi has a lineup of Mi Band in India, with Mi Band 3i being the latest one. The budget fitness band has been priced at Rs 1,299. It comes with features such as AMOLED touch display that can show up to 48 characters, features anti-fingerprint coating, and 300-nits brightness. Xiaomi is promising up to 20 days of battery life on a single charge. The Mi Band 3i also surfaces notifications and alerts from the connected smartphone for apps like WhatsApp, Messages, incoming calls, etc.
