Realme GT is the company’s current flagship phone that launched in China and globally and is expected to debut in India soon. Now, while we wait for the India launch, it appears that Realme GT 2 is already in the works and will come with the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon flagship SoC. Getting into details, Fast Technology Official Weibo handle cites Realme President Wang Wei Derek’s comment, saying that the phone will be equipped with the strongest SoC in the Android camp. The Realme GT 2 will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 895, as per the post. The chipset is expected to launch in Q4 2021 at the Qualcomm Summit like every year. This is the first confirmation about the Realme GT 2 and Snapdragon 895 SoC coming from the company.
This comes at a time when Realme is working on Realme GT Master Edition. There are speculations the company is also working with veteran camera brand Kodak to improve their camera technology. Realme GT lineup is expected to only include flagship phones considering the brand is betting on performance and speed with them. Since the Qualcomm chipset won’t launch until later this year, the phone is also not expected until then.
Realme GT 5G specifications include a 6.43-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with punch-hole cutout, 120Hz refresh rate, 1000nits peak brightness, and Corning Gorilla 5. It is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 5G SoC paired with Adreno 660 GPU, up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM, and 256GB UFS 3.1 storage.
