Realme GT 7 vs OnePlus 13R comparison poll: vote for the best phone based on specs!

Realme recently unveiled the Realme GT 7 as the successor to last year’s Realme GT 6. It offers an upgraded processor in the form of the MediaTek Dimensity 9400e, a flat display, a larger 7,000mAh battery, and also gains better durability with IP68/69 rating. It costs Rs 39,999, and in this price segment, the OnePlus 13R is a close rival. 

The OnePlus 13R, priced at Rs 42,999 borrows the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 from last year’s OnePlus 12 and gets a 2x telephoto lens, replacing the 2MP macro camera present on the OnePlus 12R. Here’s a spec-by-spec comparison between the Realme GT 7 and OnePlus 13R along with poll questions for each category.

Realme GT 7 vs OnePlus 13R: design

The Realme GT 7 features a graphene-based fibreglass blend rear cover. Realme calls this back panel “IceSense Graphene”, which allows the phone to remain cool when subjected to performance loads. The phone comes in two colours: IceSense Blue and IceSense Black. It has a rectangular camera module surrounded by coloured edges and an accented power button on the flat plastic frame.

The OnePlus 13R, on the other hand, comes in Astral Trail and Nebula Noir and features a circular camera module. Its rear panel is made of glass, while the side frame is constructed using aluminium. Just like previously launched OnePlus handsets, the 13R is equipped with an Alert Slider to switch between sound profiles quickly. While the Realme GT 7 may not have a slider, it has an IP68/69 rating for protection against water and dust, which is superior to OnePlus 13R’s IP65 rating.

As for weight and thickness, the Realme GT 7 weighs 206g and has a thickness of 8.3mm, while the OnePlus 13R weighs the same and comes with a thickness of 8mm.

Both Realme GT 7 and OnePlus 13R feature the same display size, AMOLED panels, resolution of 1.5K, and 120Hz refresh rate support. For display protection, both devices are equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass 7i. You get completely flat panels with minimal bezels on these smartphones.

The differences lie in the peak brightness numbers, where the Realme GT 7 can go up to 6,000 nits while the OnePlus 13R is able to deliver 4,500 nits peak brightness.

The Realme GT 7 and OnePlus 13R boast TSMC-made 4nm high-end octa-core chipsets from different chip makers, where the former is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9400e while the latter packs the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3.

The MediaTek Dimensity 9400e offers a higher clock speed of 3.4GHz versus a 3.3GHz clock speed of the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC inside the OnePlus 13R. Similarly, the Realme phone packs the Immortalis-G720 MC12, while the Adreno 750 GPU is present inside the OnePlus phone. In terms of storage type, the Realme GT 7 carries UFS 4.1, while the OnePlus 13R packs UFS 4.0. As for RAM type, both have LPDDR5X.

Realme GT 7 vs OnePlus 13R: camera

Coming to the camera hardware, the Realme GT 7 and OnePlus 13R come with the same setup, which includes a 50MP 1/1.56″ main Sony IMX 906/LYT 700 camera, a 50MP JN5 telephoto camera with 2x optical zoom, and an 8MP ultra-wide lens. Of all the cameras, only the main camera has OIS support on both handsets.

Coming to the front, the Realme GT 7 rocks a 32MP 1/2.74″ Sony IMX615 camera capable of recording in up to 4K 60FPS, while the OnePlus 13R has a 16MP 1/3.09″ selfie shooter, which can record videos in up to 1080p 30FPS.

The main sensor of Realme GT 7 has an edge in video recording as it’s capable of shooting videos in up to 8K 30FPS, while the OnePlus 13R is limited to 4K 60FPS.

Realme GT 7 vs OnePlus 13R: battery, charging

The Realme GT 7 not only has a 16.6 percent bigger battery than the OnePlus 13R, but also charges faster. Its dual-cell setup battery (two 3,500mAh batteries charged together) also allows it to charge faster, while the OnePlus 13R has a single 6,000mAh battery, which takes longer to charge.

Both phones come with their proprietary charging adapters and feature USB Type-A output, meaning they do not support PD charging.

Realme GT 7 vs OnePlus 13R: software

The Realme GT 7 and OnePlus 13R run on Android 15 out of the box, with the difference being that the former comes with Realme UI 6.0 while the latter features OxygenOS 15. Both smartphones promise four OS upgrades with six years of security updates. The Realme handset comes with 59 pre-installed apps, while the OnePlus 13R boasts 47 apps, 12 fewer than Realme, providing more storage space out of the box.

While both carry basic AI features in the Gallery and Notes apps such as AI Eraser, AI unblur, AI writing enhancement, and AI reply, the Realme GT 7 offers AI Planner through which users can easily add an event, schedule, or plan in a dedicated section by just tapping on the back panel.
