Realme India finally launched a much-awaited premium mid-range smartphone, the Realme GT Neo 3T, on Friday. The smartphone comes at a rather hotly contested price point of Rs 30,000 in India, which has seen multiple exciting options launched of late for the premium smartphone buyer. If you are also on the lookout for a premium device to replace your old smartphone, the GT Neo 3T makes for an interesting choice to consider. On this note, we take a look at how it fares against a rather similar offering, the iQOO Neo 6 5G, which was also launched in India earlier this year.

Here’s what the two phones offer on paper when pit against each other.

Realme GT Neo 3T vs iQOO Neo 6: specifications, features, and design

Design

The Realme GT Neo 3T resembles the overall look and design of its predecessor and offers a ‘sporty’ chequered design on the rear. The camera module to the rear is an elongated rectangle stacked vertically, while the drill hole for the front camera is to the left. It is 8.7mm thick and weighs 194 grams. It is available in three colour variants — Dash Yellow, Shade Black, and Drifting White – each of which have a patterned finish to the rear.

The iQOO Neo 6 comes with nearly the same dimensions as the GT Neo 3T. It gets two colour finishes — Dark Nova and Cyber Rage. The camera module is a large square, which makes the device look rather bulky. The camera to the front is placed centrally. In terms of dimensions, though, the Neo 6 is marginally slimmer and lighter — measuring 8.5mm in thickness and weighing 190 grams.

Display

Both the Realme GT Neo 3T and the iQOO Neo 6 feature the same display panels, resolution, refresh rate, and overall quality. Both smartphones get 6.62-inch AMOLED displays, with 1,300 nits peak brightness, full HD+ screen resolution, and 120Hz refresh rates. The only difference is that the GT Neo 3T gets a Corning Gorilla Glass 5 layer, while the Neo 6 misses it.

Processor, RAM, and storage

Both smartphones are also powered by the same processor, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 870 SoC, which means both devices support 5G network. While the Realme GT Neo 3T comes with a 6GB RAM version and has up to 256GB internal storage, the iQOO Neo 6 has up to 12GB RAM as well.

As a result, the Realme GT Neo 3T has three variants of RAM and storage starting with 6GB RAM and 128GB storage and going up to 8GB RAM and 256GB storage. The iQOO Neo 6, meanwhile, comes in two variants — 8GB+128GB and 12GB+256GB.

Cameras

Both smartphones are similar here as well. They feature triple rear camera setups, headlined by 64MP sensors on the main camera. The two additional units include an 8MP ultra-wide camera, and a 2MP depth-sensing camera as well. On the front as well, both phones feature 16MP cameras.

However, while the iQOO Neo 6 can record 4K videos at 30fps frame rates, the new Realme GT Neo 3T can record 4K videos at 60fps.

Connectivity

Also being identical, both the phones offer 5G connectivity and do not feature 3.5mm physical audio connectivity or storage expansion via memory cards. Both phones offer Bluetooth 5.2 and have USB-C 2.0 connectivity and under-display fingerprint sensors. However, while the Realme GT Neo 3T features Wi-Fi 6 dual-band gigabit-class connectivity, the iQOO Neo 6 features standard dual-band Wi-Fi.

Battery

The Realme GT Neo 3T comes with a 5,000mAh battery with 80W fast charging. In comparison, the iQOO Neo 6 features a 4,700mAh battery and also supports 80W fast charging.

Verdict

As you can see, both the Realme GT Neo 3T and iQOO Neo 6 offer several similar features. They both feature a 120Hz AMOLED display, the same Snapdragon 870 SoC with 5G support, and 64MP triple cameras. The only area where the Realme GT Neo 3T has a slight edge is in the battery department where it offers a slightly bigger 5000mAh unit.
