Realme GT Neo 5 touches a whopping 224W fast charging speed during testing: first phone to cross 200W

Realme GT Neo 5 is expected to launch at the MWC 2023 and the handset is likely to come with 240W fast charging support that was introduced recently. This charging solution is claimed to fully charge in just 9 minutes from 0 to 100 percent. Now, during the internal testing, the phone has reached 224W fast charging speed, which makes it the first phone to score more than 200W measured power. Although the Realme GT Neo 5 couldn’t reach the 240W speed, we believe the final retail unit will be able to achieve this feat.

The Realme GT Neo 5 surpasses the Realme GT Neo 3’s 150W speed by a significant margin. The phone is expected to come with a 1.5K OLED display, Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC, and Android 13 OS.

Realme GT Neo 5 specifications (rumoured)

Realme GT Neo 5 is tipped to sport a 6.7-inch 1.5K OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, punch-hole cutout, HDR10+, and flat edges. The phone is likely to be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 SoC paired with Adreno GPU, up to 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of internal storage. The handset is expected to boot Android 13-based Realme UI 4.0 custom skin out of the box.

As for the cameras, the Realme GT Neo 5 is said to pack a 4,600mAh battery, which will support the new 240W fast charging tech. But there will be another variant with a 5000mAh battery and 150W fast charging support. The phone is likely to have an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. Connectivity features include 5G, 4G LTE, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and a USB Type-C port for charging and data sync.

The Realme GT Neo 5 is said to come with triple rear cameras on the back, with a 50MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide angle camera, and a 2MP macro camera. There could be a 16MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats.
