Realme is postponing its May 4th launch event in India due to the ongoing COVID-19 crisis in the country. The company revealed on Tuesday that it was planning to launch India’s first phone with MediaTek Dimensity 1200 phone (Realme X7 Max) and a new Realme TV on May 4th. However, Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth just announced that the May 4th launch event has been postponed. The brand is also postponing its 3-year anniversary celebrations. The company hasn’t revealed a new Realme X7 Max launch date in India.

In a statement, Realme India head, Madhav Sheth has said, “After careful consideration, #realme has decided to postpone the upcoming smartphone and AIoT products’ launch along with anniversary celebrations. Realme X7 Max specifications (expected)

Realme X7 Max is said to be a rebrand of the Realme GT Neo that launched in China last month. It sports a 6.43-inch FHD+ AMOLED display, with a 120Hz refresh rate and corner punch-hole camera. The phone is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC coupled up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 128GB UFS 3.1 storage that is further expandable via a microSD card. The handset runs on Android 11-based Realme UI 2.0 custom skin on top and has an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. The phone packs a 4,500mAh battery with 50W fast-charging support fuels the phone.

Realme GT Neo has triple cameras at the back, consisting of a 64MP primary sensor, an 8MP wide-angle lens, and a 2MP camera. It has a 16MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats. Connectivity features could include 5G, 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.1, dual-band Wi-Fi, GPS, and USB Type-C port for charging and data transfers. Realme GT Neo measures 8.4mm in thickness and weighs 179 grams.
