Realme is slowly yet steadily diversifying its product offerings in India, and the portfolio could soon include a Realme smartwatch. The company recently launched the Realme Buds Air true wireless earbuds, and has previously launched power banks, backpacks and more. The company also confirmed to launch a fitness tracker in India in early 2020. Now, a Realme smartwatch has received BIS certification, suggesting the company’s first smartwatch might be arriving pretty soon. This Realme smartwatch could be announced on January 9th during the launch event of the Realme 5i in India.

With the launch of a smartwatch, Realme will be taking on the incredibly successful Mi Band-series in India.

Realme CEO, Madhav Sheth already confirmed that the brand would launch IoT (Internet of Things) products this year, but hasn’t detailed more about them yet. With the launch of its fitness wearable, Realme will entering a segment that is currently dominated by the likes of Xiaomi, Fitbit and Apple, among others. 

Additionally, Realme is also aiming to expand its offline presence in India and would soon launch offline-centric smartphone series. However, he didn’t say anything about the pricing and positioning details of the offline-centric series, but mentioned that it would launch products across price segments. Realme is planning to open exclusive offline stores to take on Xiaomi, which is slowly growing its offline market share. As of now, Realme phones are being sold in around 7,000 offline stores in the country.
