Realme TV was launched earlier this week and it marks the company’s debut in the smart TV segment in India. The Realme TV comes in two variants – 32-inch and 43-inch. Both models tout bezel-less displays, while the specifications include MediaTek chipsets, quad speakers and Android TV OS. We managed to get our hands on the Realme TV 43-inch model, which comes with a price tag of Rs 21,999 and offers a full HD display. This model competes against the 43-inch Mi TV 4A Pro in this price bracket. Here’s our unboxing and first impressions of the Realme TV 43-inch model.

As you can see from our unboxing video above, the box contents of the Realme TV 43-inch are quite standard. It packs a remote with batteries, base stands, and some documentation, apart from the TV unit. Although the Realme TV 43-inch can be wall mounted, you’ll have to purchase the mount separately.

The TV has pretty much the same setup process as any other Android-powered smart TV. You’ll be asked to select language, location, Wi-Fi, smartphone pairing – which is optional – and a handful of other things. This is a one-time process that can be completed within a few minutes.

As for the design, the Realme TV screen measures 43-inch diagonally and has a plasticky body finish. The TV sports an LED panel with bezel-less design and a small chin at the bottom. The LED panel bears full HD (1,920 × 1,080p) resolution, 16:9 aspect ration, 178-degree viewing angle, 60Hz refresh rate, and Chroma Boost Picture Engine that is said to improve dynamic range. As for the remote, it looks similar to the Mi TV remote, with curved edges and dedicated hotkeys. The remote also features a microphone to summon Google Assistant.

Inside the Realme TV 43-inch is MediaTek quad-core chipset paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB storage. About 4.6GB is available for users. The TV also features quad speakers with 24W stereo output with Dolby Audio support, which is said to be first in the segment. Coming to the software, the Realme TV 43-inch is driven by Android 9 operating system and supports over 5,000+ apps. A handful of OTT apps such as Netflix, Prime Video, and YouTube are pre-installed on the TV, while the rest can be added via the Google Play Store. In terms of connectivity, the Realme TV features Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, 3 x HDMI ports, 2 x USB ports, 1 x LAN, 1 x AV, 1 X ANT, 1 X Digital Audio Out, and built-in Chromecast for screen mirroring.

The Realme TV 43-inch has been priced in India at Rs 21,999, which is Rs 1,000 cheaper than the Mi TV 4A Pro 43-inch. Both TVs come with similar specifications, but Realme TV 43-inch has slightly powerful speakers and Netflix app pre-installed. Additionally, Realme is also including six months of YouTube premium membership with the TV. The Realme TV 43-inch will go on sale in India from June 2nd at 12PM, via Flipkart and Realme.com.
