Realme TV launch is just months away as the brand is gearing up to take on arch rival Xiaomi in a new, fast-growing segment, 91mobiles has learnt from a trusted industry source. The Realme TV will go official by 2019-end – we already know the Realme X2 Pro will be launching in India in December, so the brand may just unveil its first smart TV at the same event. However, the source could not ascertain whether the company plans to launch multiple Realme TVs or will kick off its smart TV ambitions with just one model. Nonetheless, we can expect the Realme TV price in India to be firmly in the affordable bracket.
Launched just a year and a half ago, Realme has been quite successful with its smartphone and accessories thanks to competitive hardware and low prices. So it is natural for the brand to be eyeing the smart TV segment now considering its past success in the country and how the TV is fast becoming the hub for the smart home ecosystem. The brand has already made known its intentions of being among the first to launch 5G products globally and bring them to India “as early as possible.” Unfortunately, the features and specifications of Realme TV remain unknown at the moment, but we will bring them to you as soon as possible.
Xiaomi has a pretty big portfolio of Mi TVs, which starts from budget 32-inch models and goes up to premium smart TVs that are as big as 65-inch in size. It is, in fact, the market leader in the smart TV segment of India and claims to have sold as many as 2.5 lakh units of Mi TVs in the recently-concluded festive sales. Other brands that have joined the fray for dominance in the smart TV segment include Motorola, which debuted a huge lineup recently, and OnePlus with its premium TVs. Samsung and LG also have a huge presence in the premium smart TV segment.
