“Realme has neither revealed details regarding the bug nor mentioned a timeline for the rollout”
Realme X has recently received a new software update with version number RMX1901EX_11.A.09. It brought system-wide Dark Mode and October 2019 security patch. The OTA also improved touch experience when gaming and other fixes. However, Realme has now paused the update as the company’s developers found a critical bug in it. For those who have already updated will have to live with the bug until Realme fixes it, but for those who didn’t, they will have to wait for a fresh update. Since Realme usually pushes the update in a staged manner, only a limited number of users would have received it on the first day. The company neither revealed details regarding the bug nor mentioned a timeline for the rollout.
“The developers have found a critical bug before the update reached more devices. As a consequence, the update has been put off temporarily. We will update this thread and provide the manual link to download the A.09 firmware as soon as the bug has been fixed and the rollout has started again. I apologise for keeping you waiting guys,” said Realme in a post on the official forum.
The Realme X OTA update introduces charging animation, added new font feature to Theme Store, and the ability to enter hidden applications list with fingerprint biometric. It also adds swipe down on the home screen to bring up the notification centre or global search and added Realme laboratory. The OTA also adds the option to show notification dots for updates. Also included is a fast switch toggle between SIMs in the notification centre and removed the reminder after the hotspot is enabled.
