“Realme X mid-range phone expected to come with the latest Snapdragon 730 SoC, dual rear cameras, in-display fingerprint sensor and more”
OPPO spin-off brand Realme seems to be channelling its focus on entering its home soil China with the Realme X series soon. Recently, an alleged Realme X with model number RMX1901 appeared on TENAA and was again spotted on the company’s promotional video with a pop-up selfie camera. The company has scheduled an event in China on May 15th, where it is expected to unveil the Realme X officially. Now, in an interview with India Today, Realme India head Madhav Sheth has confirmed that Realme X will be launched in India as well.
While he didn’t reveal the exact Realme X India launch timeline yet, the handset has received BIS (Bureau of Indian Standards) certification, suggesting the event might happen soon after the handset’s China debut. Though the pricing details are kept under wraps, given the specifications and rumours, the Realme X could be priced under Rs 20,000. It is also possible that Realme X might be marketed under a different name in India and could be the start of an entirely new series for the brand.
While it is not confirmed, rumours suggest the recently announced Snapdragon 730 SoC might power the handset and is said to come in three variants – 6GB+ 64GB, 6GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 128GB storage option. Furthermore, it is expected to come with VOOC 3.0 fast-charging support, an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric security, and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 layer. The Realme X is said to rock dual rear camera setup consisting of a 48MP primary sensor and 5MP secondary depth unit for portrait shots.
Lastly, Realme 3 Pro that was launched in India recently will be marketed as Realme X Lite/ Youth Edition in China.
