Realme XT gets Android 10-based Realme UI update, Realme X2 users can sign up for beta

Realme XT is now the second smartphone to get updated to Realme UI after the Realme 3 Pro received the update last week. Realme introducing its own interface, Realme UI, on its phones as the brand looks to step away from OPPO’s shadow. Realme UI replaces ColorOS and brings a host of visual and ergonomic changes as well as Android 10-based features to Realme smartphones. Additionally, Realme X2 users can also sign up for the Realme UI beta program, which will continue until January 27th, 2020. The Realme UI is based on Android 10, and comes with a rather extensive changelog.

According to Realme’s official website, the entire changelog of the update notes multiple significant changes to the interface. These include an optimised sidebar on the phone interface for easier shortcut operations, easier splitscreen app performance, floating app bubbles, direct screenshot sharing, a new ‘Focus Mode’, recent apps memory layout, and multiple visual changes to the interface. Another interesting new feature of the interface update is a random MAC ID generator, which randomises the device MAC ID when connected to Wi-Fi, to protect the device identity when connected to public networks.

The Realme UI update for Realme XT is now rolling out in phases, and will seemingly reach all users soon enough.

The full changelog of the update, published by Realme on their website, reads as follows:

-Brand new Real Design makes visuals more attractive and operation more efficient.

Smart Sidebar:
-Optimized user interface and improved one-handed operation.
-Optimized Smart Sidebar: Replaced File Console with File Manager; removed OSIE Visual Effect and No Notification Alerts.
-Drag an app out of Smart Sidebar to open it in Split-screen Mode.
-Added two new features: “Assistive Ball Opacity” and “Hide Assistive Ball on Fullscreen App”.
-Optimized the Floating Window feature for more apps.
-Added Bubbles: A bubble is displayed when you open an app in a floating window from the Smart Sidebar. Tap the bubble to collapse or open the app.

-Optimized 3-Finger Screenshot Gesture: Use 3 fingers to touch and hold the screen, and swipe to take a screenshot of the selected part of the screen (partial screen capture). Use 3 fingers to touch and hold the screen, and swipe your fingers outwards to capture a long screenshot.
-Added screenshot settings: You can adjust the position of the screenshot preview floating window and set the screenshot sound.
-Optimized screenshot preview floating window: After taking a screenshot, drag it up and release it to share it, or drag it down and release to take a long screenshot.

Navigation Gestures 3.0:

-Optimized gestures: All gestures are supported in landscape mode.
