Reasons to buy the iQOO 13
Performance beast
The iQOO 13 is powered by Qualcomm’s fastest mobile chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite. It has one of the best benchmark scores among rivals. This proved true in real-world use especially gaming as it offers a stutter-free and smooth gaming performance with high frame rates and impressive haptic feedback. It can also easily handle multi-tasking and demanding tasks with ease.
Impressive display
With the iQOO 13, you get a 6.82-inch 2K (1440 x 3168 pixels) AMOLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 800 nits typical brightness, and 4,500 nits peak brightness. Its flat display worked in its favour as we found it to be particularly good for gaming and watching videos. This was also without any reflection or accidental touch issues. The smartphone’s 300Hz touch sampling rate also adds to its gaming performance.
Highly durable
The iQOO 13 has an IP68/69 rating. This is the highest level of protection for smartphones against water and dust in harsh environments. With an IP69 rating, the iQOO 13 can withstand high-pressure water jets up to 1,450 PSI and temperatures up to 80 degrees Celsius. The iQOO 13 also has a Schott Alpha protective layer on the display for protection against dust and water.
Capable Night mode
The iQOO 13 has triple 50MP rear cameras and a 32MP front camera. While its overall camera performance was good, the smartphone’s dedicated night mode was also quite reliable. Some low-light shots that we took came out clear with good details despite being slightly oversaturated.
Reasons to skip the iQOO 13
Pre-installed apps
The iQOO 13 comes with FunTouch OS 15 based on Android 15 out of the box. You also get 56 pre-installed apps including nine third-party apps. This is a lot and can be quite annoying when you’re setting up the phone. Otherwise, the UI is smooth and animations are also fluid.
No periscope lens
The iQOO 13 doesn’t have a periscope lens, which is present on its predecessor, the iQOO 12. This means that the phone supports only up to 2x optical zoom. iQOO said that it skipped the periscope lens so they could still maintain an aggressive pricing for the iQOO 13.
