After confirming the launch of the Redmi Note 12 4G in India on March 30th, Xiaomi has now announced the Redmi 12C will also be debuting on the same stage. As the name suggests, this will be a C-series offering and will be priced affordably. There’s a microsite on Xiaomi India’s website, which reveals the complete design and some key hardware details of the phone. The Redmi 12C will arrive as a successor to the Redmi 11C and should bring some improvements under the hood. To recall, the handset was launched earlier this year in China.

Redmi 12C will be launching in India on March 30th alongside the Redmi Note 12 4G version. This comes as a part of the Mi Fan Festival Days.

Redmi 12C will get a waterdrop notch on the front for the selfie shooter and a noticeable bezel below the screen. The volume rocker and power buttons are on the right edge. Moving to the back, you have a large camera island, where two sensors are present alongside an LED flash and a third cutout with ‘AI’ text engraved in it. There is also a physical fingerprint sensor in the same module. The back panel has a pattern finish for better grip on hands. The Redmi 12C will be available in Blue, Black, Purple, and Green colour options.

As for the specifications, the Redmi 12C is confirmed to flaunt a large 6.71-inch display, which could bear an HD+ resolution with a 20:9 aspect ratio and a standard 60Hz refresh rate. The company says that this is the largest display on a phone launched in 2023 and priced at around the Rs 10,000 segment. 

The smartphone is claimed to be the fastest in the segment, thanks to the MediaTek Dimensity G85 SoC at the helm. The chipset could be paired with up to 6GB RAM and there’s up to 5GB extendable RAM support. There will be a 50MP dual camera setup on the back. Lastly, the phone will have a 5000mAh battery on board.

While the front camera details are not revealed, the phone features a 5MP unit to click selfies.
