With an aim to woo budget-friendly smartphone users, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has launched a new smartphone, the Redmi 12C, in China. The phone comes as a successor to the smartphone to Redmi 10C, which launched in March last year. In terms of looks, the smartphone offers a variation compared to its predecessor. It is powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC and has three storage variants. Here are the price, specifications, and other details of the recently released C-series Redmi smartphone.
Redmi 12C price, storage, colour options
Redmi 12C starts at CNY 699 (roughly Rs 8,400) for the base model that offers a 4GB+64GB storage option. The smartphone with 4GB+128GB and 6GB+128GB storage options are priced at CNY 799 (roughly Rs 9,600) and CNY 899 (roughly Rs 10,800), respectively. It comes in three colour options – Shadow Black, Sea Blue, Mint Green, and Lavender.

A pill-shaped camera module and a fingerprint scanner are housed in a square-shaped module on the rear of the phone. Meanwhile, the camera module contains the LED flash. The Redmi 12C features a 6.71-inch HD+ display with a 20.6:9 aspect ratio and 500 nits of peak brightness. It sports a dual rear camera setup consisting of a 50MP primary camera sensor on the back and a 5MP selfie camera housed in the dew-drop notch on the front.
The smartphone is powered by a MediaTek Helio G85 SoC and offers LPDDR4X RAM and eMMC 5.1 flash memory. The smartphone’s internal storage can be expanded up to 512GB through a microSD card. The Redmi 12C houses a 5,000mAh battery that comes with a 10W charging adapter.
Last month, the company unveiled a number of smartphones in China, including the Redmi Note 12 Pro Speed Edition and Redmi K60 series. And now, the brand unveiled the Redmi 12C in the country. But there is no official confirmation about its India launch timeline.
