Redmi 8 4G RAM variant price in India has been hiked yet again. The handset is now Rs 300 costlier than its previously selling price which was Rs 9,499. To recall, the phone has received several price hikes in recent months with the last one being a Rs 200 hike in May. The Redmi 8 4GB RAM variant with 64GB storage was selling for Rs 9,499 until yesterday, but is now retailing for Rs 9,799 via both offline and online stores across the country. To recall, the Redmi 8 4GB RAM variant was initially launched in India at Rs 8,999. Xiaomi had also increased the price of Redmi Note 9 Pro Max and Redmi 8A Dual a few weeks ago.
Redmi 8 specifications
The Redmi 8 specifications, to recall, include a 6.22-inch HD+ IPS display with 19:9 aspect ratio, 720 x 1,520 pixels resolution, and Gorilla Glass 5 layer. The handset runs Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI custom skin atop. Under the hood, the Redmi 8 rocks an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 439 SoC coupled with Adreno 505 GPU, 4GB RAM and 64GB user-expandable storage.
In terms of optics, the Redmi 8 rocks dual-cameras consisting of a 12MP primary sensor with LED flash, and a 2MP secondary camera. There is an 8MP snapper on the front for selfies. The handset houses a 5,000mAh battery and supports 18W fast-charging. The phone has standard connectivity options and a traditional fingerprint sensor at the back for security.
