Redmi 8A Dual has been launched in India. As you can guess from the name, this is an upgraded version of the Redmi 8A budget smartphone from last year. The Redmi 8A Dual, which will take on Realme C3 in the budget segment, highlights a dual rear camera setup and a new Aura XGrip design. To recall, the Redmi 8A offered a single rear camera. The Redmi 8A Dual is powered by a Snapdragon 439 SoC and packs a 5,000mAh battery with support for 18W fast charging over Type-C port. The Redmi 8A Dual has the same form factor as its predecessor, thanks to its 6.22-inch HD+ LCD panel.
Additionally, Redmi Power Bank has also been launched in two capacities – 10,000mAh and 20,000mAh. The former comes with 10W charging support, while the latter gets 18W two-way fast charging support. The new power banks can be charged via microUSB and Type-C, and they are capable of charging two devices at once. The 10,000mAh Redmi Power Bank price is set at Rs 799, while the 20,000mAh Redmi Power Bank costs Rs 1,499. The Redmi Power Bank will be available starting February 18th from 12 noon.

The Redmi 8A Dual price in India starts at Rs 6,499 for the base variant with 2GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The phone’s 3GB + 32GB variant is priced at Rs 6,999. Buyers can purchase the Redmi 8A starting February 18th from Mi.com and Amazon.com and Mi Home stores in Sea Blue, Sky White and Midnight Grey colours.

Coming to the specifications, the Redmi 8A Dual sports a 6.22 Dot Notch HD+ resolution and Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone has the same Snapdragon 439 SoC that also powers the regular Redmi 8A. The SoC is paired with 2GB RAM + 32GB storage for the base variant, while the top-end variant comes with 3GB RAM + 32GB storage. Both the variants feature a microSD card slot to further expand the storage up to 512GB. The Redmi 8A Dual gets a new Aura XGrip design in Sea Blue, Sky White and Midnight Grey colours. The handset also gets a P2i coating for splash resistance.
In optics, the Redmi 8A Dual features dual 13MP + 2MP cameras on the rear. It sports an 8MP front-facing camera. The handset houses a large 5,000mAh battery with USB Type-C port and 18W fast-charging support; a 10W charger is bundled in the box. Other features connectivity options such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, dual SIM support with 4G VoLTE connectivity, and GPS. Redmi 8A Dual also comes with VoWi-Fi support aka Wi-Fi calling feature.
