- Redmi 9 has been confirmed by an official website for the first time
- It was earlier spotted on various global certifications, including EEC and 3C
- Redmi 9 specifications are said to include Helio G80 SoC, quad-camera setup, and 10W charging
Redmi 9 launch could be imminent as it was spotted on Xiaomi Global’s official RF certification website. While the listing doesn’t mention anything about the Redmi 9, this is the first time the moniker has been confirmed, which clearly means the smartphone is in development. The handset had earlier spotted on various global certifications, including Eurasian EEC certification website and the Chinese 3C certification site as well. The latter revealed it would ship with 10W standard charging. The Redmi 9 is likely to boot Android 10 OS with a custom MIUI skin overlaid on top. Unfortunately, not much else is known about the Redmi 9 just yet, but we should know more information soon.
Back in March, alleged Redmi 9 live-images have surfaced online, revealing the entire design. The handset is equipped with quad cameras at the back along with an LED flash and is arranged in a circular ring, similar to the POCO X2. It has a physical fingerprint sensor for security. While it doesn’t reveal the front-design, the handset could have a waterdrop notch or punch-hole cutout to house the selfie camera. The volume rocker and power button could be placed on the right spine, while the SIM tray on the left side.
Redmi 9 specifications
As for the earlier leaked specifications, the Redmi 9 is said to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G80 SoC coupled with at least 4GB RAM and 64GB internal storage that may be further expandable. The handset is said to feature a 13MP primary camera, an 8MP ultra-wide camera, a 5MP macro lens, and a 2MP depth sensor. It could have an HD+ display with slim bezels and a beefy battery. We should know more information going forward, so stick around.
