Alleged Redmi 9 India variant specifications and renders leak pretty much confirms the phone is a rebranded Redmi 9C. Redmi 9 is scheduled to launch in India on August 27th and will succeed the Redmi 8 from last year. Now, ahead of the launch, renders and full specifications of the alleged handset have leaked online, courtesy of Twitter user Sudhanshu. The Redmi 9 will be available in Orange, Blue, and Black colour options and will be available via Amazon.in.

Redmi 9 India variant will have a dual-rear camera setup along with an LED flash placed in the square-camera module. To recall, the Redmi 9C offers a triple camera setup, but the module on the Redmi 9 will offer two working cameras while the third cutout that is likely present for aesthetic purposes. The Redmi 9 will feature a physical rear-mounted fingerprint sensor for security and the Redmi branding on the bottom of the rear panel. The back panel seems to have a textured finish for a better grip. The volume rocker and power button are present on the right spine, while the SIM tray is on the left side.

As per the tipster, the Redmi 9 sports a 6.53-inch HD+ display with 1,600×720 pixels resolution and a waterdrop notch for the selfie snapper. It is said to be powered by the MediaTek Helio G35 SoC and comes in two models: 2GB + 32GB and 3GB and 64GB internal storage, but the tipster couldn’t confirm these details. The phone runs Android 10 OS with MIUI 12 custom skin on top. As for the optics, the Redmi 9 will have AI dual cameras consisting of a 13MP primary camera and a 2MP depth sensor.

Redmi 9 is said to pack a 5MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats. The phone will house a 5,000mAh battery with 10W charging support. Redmi 9 will have dual-SIM support, a dedicated microSD card slot, and a 3.5mm audio jack. It measures 164.9 x 77.07 x 9mm and weighs 196 grams. While we can’t confirm the legitimacy of the leak at the moment, these details look real. We should know more details in the next few days.
