Redmi 9i receives Bluetooth SIG certification; may launch in India soon

Redmi 9i India launch could be around the corner as new details about the handset have surfaced online. After a recent report claiming the Redmi 9i would launch in India in two storage models and three colour options, the smartphone has now been spotted on the on Bluetooth SIG certification with its official marketing name and model number M2006C3LII. The Redmi 9i will have 4G LTE, Bluetooth 5.1, and MIUI 12, as per the listing. Unfortunately, not much else is revealed about the phone at the moment, but this is a good indication the launch could be around the corner. However, it is unclear where the smartphone will be placed in the Redmi 9 series.

Xiaomi India earlier today launched the Redmi 9A budget phone in India. The handset has a 6.53-inch HD+ display with 1,600×720 pixels resolution, be powered by the MediaTek Helio G25 SoC coupled with IMG PowerVR GE8320 GPU, up to 3GB RAM and 32GB internal storage. The phone runs Android 10 OS with MIUI 12 custom skin on top. Redmi 9A features a single 13MP primary camera and an LED flash. There is a 5MP snapper on the front for selfies and video chats. The phone houses a 5,000mAh battery. Redmi 9A price in India is Rs 6,799 for the 2GB + 32GB model and Rs 7,499 for the 3GB + 32GB variant.

Prior to the Redmi 9A launch, Xiaomi announced the Redmi 9 in the country. The phone ships with a 6.53-inch HD+ display with 1,600×720 pixels resolution and a waterdrop notch. It is powered by the MediaTek Helio G35 SoC coupled with 4GB RAM and either 64GB/128GB storage options that are further expandable via a microSD card. It is the first Redmi phone in India to ship with Android 10-based MIUI 12 custom skin on top. There is a physical fingerprint sensor for security. As for the optics, the Redmi 9 comes with AI dual cameras consisting of a 13MP primary camera and a 2MP depth sensor. There is a 5MP front-facing camera on the front for selfies and video chats. The phone houses a 5,000mAh battery and supports standard 10W charging. Connectivity options include 4G LTE, Dual-SIM, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm audio jack, GPS, and micro-USB port for charging and data sync. Redmi 9 India prices start at Rs 8,999 for the base 4GB + 64GB model and Rs 9,999 for the 4GB + 128GB variant.
