After multiple teasers, Redmi India has confirmed the launch of the new Redmi Fire TV in India on March 14th at 12 PM IST. This will be the company’s first smart TV in association with Amazon’s Fire OS. All other models from the brand run on Android TV OS. Quite obviously, the TV will be sold on Amazon in addition to Mi platforms across the country. There’s a dedicated microsite on Amazon India’s website, which revealed key details about the upcoming Redmi Fire TV. The Redmi Fire TV is confirmed to feature Fire OS 7 skin that has smart hub control. The new remote control will have an Alexa shortcut instead of Google Assistant. Additionally, there will be quick launch buttons for Prime Video, Netflix and Amazon Music. The TV will have a metallic-bezel-less design, bottom-firing speakers, and AirPlay/Miracast support. The Redmi Fire TV is rated to offer immersive audio and outstanding visuals. Connectivity options on the TV will include dual-band Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 5.0 connectivity.
Lastly, the Redmi Fire TV will come in eco-friendly packaging, where the box can be cut open to make a Mi Bunny storage unit. This was first introduced with the Redmi Smart TV X series in 2021.
