Considering how premium the flagships are becoming, OLED screens are becoming a new standard, and this trend has been slowly finding its way to the mid-range segment. Xiaomi this year had launched the Mi 11 series and budget Redmi Note 10 series with AMOLED display. The confirmation suggests that Xiaomi will only launch flagships with AMOLED panels going forward and we may not see phones with LCD displays like last year. This should also shoot up the price of flagships.
Separately, Redmi Note 10S is set to launch in India on May 13th at 12pm IST. The handset originally launched back in March and comes with an AMOLED display, Helio G95 SoC, and 33W fast charging. In addition to the phone, Redmi has also teased to launch of ‘Redmi Watch’ in the country. The Redmi Watch specifications include a 1.4-inch IPS LCD square display with 320 x 320 pixels resolution and water-resistance up to 50 meters. Connectivity features include Bluetooth V5.0 and NFC. It has an optical heart rate sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope sensor, geomagnetic sensor, and ambient light sensor. It can track running, cycling, indoor swimming, among others. The 230mAh battery is said to last up to 7 days on a single charge.
