“Xiaomi Redmi K20 mid-range smartphone is expected to come with Snapdragon 730 SoC, pack triple rear cameras, and run on Android 9.0 Pie”
Xiaomi is gearing up to launch the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro smartphones in India in mid-July. The Chinese giant has already kickstarted the Explorer programme for the Pro variant giving early access to 48 fans. Now, ahead of the launch, Xiaomi in a tweet teased the upcoming Redmi K20 smartphone, focusing on the Snapdragon 730 chipset which powers it. Taking a dig at the Realme 3 Pro, the brand also claimed that the SoC is 40 percent faster than last year’s Snapdragon 710 chip, using the AnTuTu score as a benchmarking reference.

The Snapdragon 730-powered Redmi K20 managed to notch up a score of 218,625, which is impressive for a mid-range phone. To recall, the handset sports a 6.39-inch AMOLED full HD+ display with 1,080 x 2,340 pixels resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and a screen-to-body ratio of 91.9 percent. The phone will arrive in three RAM and storage configurations – 6GB RAM + 64GB, 6GB RAM + 128GB, and 8GB RAM + 256GB. The handset boots MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie out of the box. In terms of optics, the Redmi K20 flaunts triple rear cameras consisting of a 48MP primary snapper, a 13MP secondary shooter, and an 8MP telephoto sensor. For selfies, there is a 20MP elevating camera.
Apart from the Redmi K20, Xiaomi will also be launching the budget flagship Redmi K20 Pro in India. It will be powered by the Snapdragon 855 SoC, and the rest of the specifications remain the same. Both the phones feature an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric security and pack 4,000mAh battery with up to 27W fast charging support. Xiaomi is yet to announce an official launch date, so we should know more details in the next few weeks.
