“DC Dimming feature will allow Redmi K20 to avoid flickering at low brightness levels, while Game Turbo 2.0 will ensure optimised performance while gaming”
The upcoming Redmi K20 smartphone has been teased by the brand excessively in the last one week and we even got to see the first official image of the handset just yesterday. Before the handset goes official on May 28th, Redmi has shared some interesting features of the upcoming handset. As per the latest teaser from Redmi, the K20 will feature Game Turbo 2.0 and DC Dimming.
Discussing the latter first, DC Dimming essentially helps the smartphone to avoid flicker issues at low brightness. These flicker issues are generally caused in AMOLED panels due to the use of Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) for controlling the screen brightness. It would be interesting to see the feature in action once the handset is launched.
Coming to the Game Turbo 2.0, as the name suggests, the feature will optimise the handset’s performance for gaming sessions. The brand’s General Manager Lu Weibing has also mentioned that users will be able to respond to text messages while playing games thanks to this mode.
Talking about the previous official teasers, Xiaomi has confirmed that the handset will feature a 7th-gen in-display fingerprint reader on the handset. The smartphone has been confirmed to house a 4,000mAh battery. The 3C certification spotted yesterday also indicated 27W fast charging on the K20 Pro version and an 18W charge on the Redmi K20. Other officially confirmed features include 960fps slow-motion videos, a 48MP Sony camera, and the Snapdragon 855 chipset. One variant of the handset is also expected to feature a mid-range CPU like the Snapdragon 730, but this has not been confirmed by the company yet. The Redmi K20 will soon be official in India but the launch date has not been shared by the company.
