Redmi K20 smartphone is now receiving the MIUI 11 Global update in India. While the new iteration of MIUI is still based on Android 9.0, it brings a revamped UI, new icons, improved always-on display and more. The 766MB OTA update also carries September 2019 security patch. Since Redmi K20 is marketed as Mi 9T in the global market, it should be getting the update as well in the next few days. MIUI 11 update removes visual clutter to make the UI more appealing, improves touch controls, and also comes with a refined the use of colours.

Furthermore, MIUI 11’s always-on display comes with dynamic themes, and all the essential information is now displayed on the screen 24/7. Users can also personalise the always-on screen with a unique signature, includes more clock formats and special effects. The new MIUI skin introduces nature sounds for alarm ringtones, notification sounds, and most importantly, they are now dynamic that change depending on the time. The new Mi Share lets one share transfer files between devices. The new Notes app lets you manage and edit tasks from any screen, and quick replies help you rely on any app. It also includes the ability to track and record the menstruation cycle, new screenshot editing options and the company also optimised the sound notifications for DND mode. Redmi K20 fingerprint icon wasn’t always displayed on the lock screen, and this has been fixed with the update. The App vault lets you swipe down to view more shortcuts now, and the app itself gets new UI and design. Continuous swiping now opens a new menu in Game Turbo, users can also create a Home screen shortcut for Game Turbo and now auto-brightness, screenshot gestures, and Reading mode can be turned off automatically when Game Turbo is on. MIUI 11 allows switching between data SIM cards as well.
