Redmi K20 Pro is now the number 1 flagship smartphone above $300 (around Rs 21,500) in Q3, 2019, according to a new report by Canalys. Redmi K20 was launched in July and has since become a bestseller in its price segment, the report adds. Redmi K20 series includes a regular Redmi K20 and a Redmi K20 Pro, the latter being the first Redmi phone to be powered by a Snapdragon 855 chipset. During the recent Xiaomi Black Friday sale, the Redmi K20 Pro was being sold with Rs 2,000 discount, bringing the price of the 6GB + 128GB variant to Rs 25,999 and the 8GB + 256GB model to Rs 28,999.

The Xiaomi Black Friday sale ends today i.e December 2nd, which means consumers have a few hours left to purchase the Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20 at discounted prices. The Redmi K20 also gets a Rs 2,000 discount and is selling for Rs 19,999 for the 6GB + 64GB ad Rs 22,999 for the 6GB + 128GB storage option. The Black Friday sale is available on Mi.com, Mi Home, Flipkart, Amazon and offline retail stores across India.

Redmi K20 Pro becoming the number 1 flagship phone above $300 sounds impressive considering the flagship was met with mixed response as some believed the price was higher than expected. Canalys’ report, however, suggests the flagship has done well with sales improving thanks to discounted prices during the recent Diwali With Mi and Black Friday sales.

Xiaomi says the performance of the Redmi K20 Pro has improved thanks to MIUI 11. Xiaomi pushed out the MIUI 11 update in October, bringing features such as quick replies, dynamic, and nature sound effects for notifications, alarms, and more. MIUI 11 update for Redmi K20 Pro also includes a comprehensive design optimised for a full-screen display and Always-on display.

Redmi K20 Pro specifications

Redmi K20 Pro sports a 6.39-inch AMOLED Full HD+ display with a 19.5:9 aspect ratio, a screen-to-body ratio of 91.9 percent and an in-display fingerprint sensor. It is powered by a flagship Snapdragon 855 SoC paired with up to 8GB of RAM. It features a 48MP triple camera setup on the back and a 20MP pop-up selfie camera. Redmi K20 Pro packs a 4,000mAh battery. It ships with Android 9 Pie, but was later updated to Android 10 with EMUI 11 on top. Redmi K20 Pro also comes with a curved Gorilla Glass 5 panel on the back in Glacier Blue, Flame Red, Pearl White and Carbon Black colour variants.
