Xiaomi is all set to launch its latest Redmi series smartphones, the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro, in India in the middle of July. Ahead of the launch, the company has just opened registrations for the Redmi K20 Pro Explorer program in the country. Under the Explorer program, the Chinese brand will provide fans early access to the Redmi K20 Pro so they could use the device and explore its features before others.

Xiaomi fans can register for the Redmi K20 Pro Explorer program by visiting the brand’s website. The registration process was kicked off today and will be ending at 11:59:59 on June 22nd. The company will select the applicants by evaluating their Mi Community Profile as well as their social media handles. It’s worth mentioning that only 48 applicants will be shortlisted as Mi Explorers for the Redmi K20 Pro.
To recall, the Redmi K20 Pro was launched in China recently as one of the most affordable phones with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 flagship chipset. The phone comes with a pop-up selfie camera and an in-display fingerprint sensor. The device has a 6.39-inch AMOLED display with a resolution of 1,080 x 2,340 pixels, and boots MIUI 10 based on Android 9 Pie out of the box. The Snapdragon 855 SoC on board is accompanied by an Adreno 640 GPU and Game Turbo 2.0 mode. In the camera department, the Redmi K20 Pro features a 48MP primary camera at the back, aided by 13MP secondary snapper and an 8MP telephoto lens. For selfies, the phone has a 20MP shooter. A 4,000mAh 27W fast charging battery keeps the phone running.
The Redmi K20 Pro was launched in China for RMB 2,499 (~Rs 25,000) for the base variant with 6GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. The most high-end model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage costs RMB 2,999 (~Rs 30,000).
