The Redmi K20 series gamepad, which was teased back in May alongside the smartphones, has been announced in China. The company had promised that’ll bring the gaming controller for the handsets, and from August 3rd, users in the country will be able to purchase it. The Redmi K20 series gamepad is very similar to the gaming controller that was launched alongside the original Black Shark smartphone in April 2018 with RMB 179 (roughly Rs 1,800) price tag. However, users of the Redmi K20 as well as the Pro model can avail it at a discounted price of RMB 99 (roughly Rs 1,000).
Talking about the specifications, the gamepad ships with a joystick, some configurable buttons, and LT and LB gaming buttons. The controller houses a 340mAh battery and also sports a function button that doubles up as a Bluetooth indicator and Bluetooth 4.2 for wireless pairing. The gaming controller can be attached to the left side Redmi K20 series when the handset is held in landscape mode. There is no word over the Redmi K20 series gaming controller launch in India yet.
In related news, the Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro price in China have been slashed. The Redmi K20 now starts at RMB 1,999 (~Rs 20,000) instead of RMB 2,099 (~Rs 21,999), while the K20 Pro will set you back to RMB 2,299 (~Rs 23,000) instead of RMB 2,599 (~Rs 26,000) for its entry-level 6GB RAM + 128GB storage variant. To recall, the Redmi K20 series is a flagship offering and first phones to embrace the elevating mechanism for the selfie camera from the brand.

Both the handsets sport a 6.39-inch AMOLED full HD+ display with 1,080 x 2,340 pixels resolution and an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric security. A 4,000mAh battery with up to 27W fast charging support fuels the phones. In terms of software, the two boot Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 custom UI on top. For photography, there is a triple rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary shooter with a Sony IMX586 sensor, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens, and a 13-megapixel 124.8-degree ultra-wide sensor. The Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro are powered by the Snapdragon 730 and Snapdragon 855 processors, respectively.
