“Android Q stable build is expected to roll out sometime later this month, but the MIUI skin might not be available right away“
Redmi K20 Pro and Xiaomi Mi 9 smartphones are now receiving Android Q beta 6 update. This will be the last preview of Android Q before the stable build hits the smartphones later this month. The update to the Redmi K20 Pro and Mi 9 adjusts the notification bar’s visual style and optimises the jump page after the long press of the screen capture switch. It fixes one-way flow card, and it no longer shows a wrong name in the shortcut switch, timer no longer disappears from the upper left corner of the status bar. It also fixes issues with the camera icon and lock screen on the Redmi K20 Pro.
Since the Android Q beta build is based on MIUI, the update shouldn’t take long before it’s rolled out to everyone. The stable build of Google’s next major Android version is expected to roll out sometime later this month but the stable MIUI skin based on Android Q might not be available right away. The company has been testing the latest version of MIUI 10 based on Android Q in China for a while now. However, no other details regarding the OS and its features are revealed jut yet.
The MIUI 10 skin based on Android Q should bring Live Caption, Smart Reply for all messaging apps, improved Digital Wellbeing, notification bubbles, sharing shortcuts, new privacy settings and permissions, and more. While it’s not confirmed, the stable MIUI build might roll out to flagship phones, including the Redmi K20 before the end of this year. We should hear more details soon.
