Bharti Airtel recently rolled out the VoWi-Fi service in India in Delhi, following which Jio also rolled out its Wi-Fi calling service. There are a few smartphones that support Wi-Fi calling and now Redmi K20 series and POCO F1 have been added to the list as well. So, if you’re using any of the devices and have Airtel broadband connection in the Delhi NCR region, you can use the VoWiFi or Wi-Fi calling feature. To enable the VoWiFi feature on the Redmi K20-series and POCO F1, head over to settings> SIM Card & Networks> Airtel SIM, enable ‘Make calls using Wi-Fi,’ and restart the device.
Apart from the Redmi K20 series and POCO F1, the list of smartphones that support Wi-Fi calling include Apple iPhone 6s, iPhone 6s Plus, iPhone 7, iPhone 7 Plus, iPhone SE, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPhone X, iPhone Xs, iPhone Xs Max, iPhone XR, iPhone 11, and iPhone 11 Pro, Samsung Galaxy J6, Galaxy On6, Galaxy M30s, and Galaxy A10s, OnePlus 7, OnePlus 7 Pro, OnePlus 7T, and OnePlus 7T Pro.
Separately, Bharti Airtel was recently ranked as the best telecom operator in India in terms of network quality, bandwidth, speed and latency, according to research firm Tutela’s telecom report for November 2019. It is considered as the best overall operator in all circles and as the average of multiple factors that were accounted for in the research. The telecom network offers an average 7.7Mbps download bandwidth, and 3.3Mbps upload bandwidth. Vodafone-Idea ranked second with 6.3Mbps download bandwidth, and 3.6Mbps upload bandwidth. Reliance Jio ranked third with 4.9Mbps download bandwidth, and 3.1Mbps upload bandwidth.
