“The Sky Replacement feature makes the images on Redmi K20 and K20 Pro more appealing and social media-ready”
Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro smartphones are now getting the new Sky Replacement feature that’ll enable users to change the colour of the sky and theme in a photo from a range of presets. This would make images more appealing and social media-ready. While the feature was exclusively introduced with the recently launched Mi CC9 and Mi CC9e smartphones, the Redmi K20 Pro and its younger sibling are now getting it as well via a software update. The feature can be accessed from the Gallery app by selecting a photo and editing with the preloaded filters.
Furthermore, Xiaomi also revealed that the Mimoji and Sky Replacement features would soon trickle down to Mi 9 flagship as well. Besides these, Panoramic selfie timer mode, Always-on Display Spiral Clock, and 3D Smart Gesture will also be rolled out the handset. However, a specific timeline hasn’t been revealed yet. While there’s no word on when Xiaomi would bring the CC series to India, the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro smartphones are scheduled to launch in the country on July 17th and will be available via Flipkart and Mi.com online.
To recall, the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro sport a 6.39-inch AMOLED full HD+ display with 1,080 x 2,340 pixels resolution and an in-display fingerprint sensor for biometric security. They are the company’s first phones to embrace the elevating mechanism for the selfie camera. A 4,000mAh battery with up to 27W fast charging support fuels the phones. In terms of software, the two boot Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 custom UI on top. In terms of optics, both the phones feature a triple rear camera setup with a 48-megapixel primary shooter with Sony IMX586 sensor, an 8-megapixel telephoto lens and a 13-megapixel 124.8-degree ultra-wide sensor. The Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro are powered by the Snapdragon 730 and Snapdragon 855 processors, respectively.
