A new Redmi K20 Pro Extreme version with the more powerful Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC is set to launch in China on September 19th. This will be an upgraded variant over the standard Redmi K20 Pro that comes with the regular Snapdragon 855 chipset. The Redmi K20 Pro smartphones were announced in the brand’s home soil, China back in May. Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC bumps up the clock frequency from 2.84GHz to 2.96GHz, and the enhanced version of Adreno 640 offers 15 percent graphics improvement. However, the rest of the Redmi K20 Pro specifications should remain the same.
Redmi K20 specifications
To recall, the Redmi K20 flaunts a 6.39-inch AMOLED Full HD+ display with 1,080 x 2,340 pixels resolution, 19.5:9 aspect ratio, and a screen-to-body ratio of 91.9 percent. The handsets run on MIUI 10 based on Android 9.0 Pie out of the box and a 4,000mAh battery with fast-charging support fuels the phones. The phone comes in three configurations – 6GB RAM + 64GB, 6GB RAM + 128GB, and 8GB RAM + 256GB.
In terms of optics, the Redmi K20 Pro packs triple rear cameras consisting of a 48MP f/1.7 primary sensor, a 13MP secondary ultra-wide-angle shooter, and an 8MP telephoto lens. The cameras are backed by PDAF, 2x optical zoom, a dual-LED flash unit, and HDR. There is a 20MP elevating camera on the front for selfies and video chats. There’s an in-display fingerprint sensor for security. Connectivity features include 4G LTE, dual-SIM slots, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, A-GPS, NFC, USB Type-C port, and 3.5mm audio jack
