“Xiaomi has confirmed that the new Redmi K30 will launch in December this year and will support 5G”
New leaked images of the Xiaomi Redmi K30 reveal that the display would indeed sport a 120Hz refresh rate, as rumoured. This would also be the first Redmi smartphone to feature 5G support, which the company has already confirmed. We’ve seen leaked Redmi K30 images before, which revealed that it has a dual-selfie cutout on the front, similar to the Samsung Galaxy S10+. Now, the live photos also show the dual-selfie camera cutout and provide more details such as display size, resolution and refresh rate. This comes soon after Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun confirmed the Redmi K30 will launch in December, whereas the Pro variant will come next year. However, there is no concrete launch date yet.
Redmi K30 specifications, features
Apart from revealing the details about the display, the live images also reveal some Redmi K30 specifications. The dual-selfie camera cutout is visible clearly, which is placed on the top left corner of the display. However, the design of the phone can’t be seen as it has been covered by a case. Luckily, the user has shared images showing the system information, the About Phone page in the Settings app, and the Display settings. The system information from the AIDA64 app reveals a lot of details.
These reveal, the Redmi K30 will have a 6.6-inch FHD+ display and a tall aspect ratio. The screen has a refresh rate of 120Hz, which is higher than what the OnePlus 7T offers. The Display Settings screen reveals that users can change the refresh rate to as low as 60Hz in order to save battery life. The option itself mentions that lower refresh rate can improve battery life. The Snapdragon chipset isn’t revealed, but it is coupled with the Adreno 618 GPU. This means that the phone is either running the Snapdragon 730 or the 730G processor.
The About Phone page confirms that the phone is indeed the Redmi K30 and reveals that it is running MIUI 11 version 9.11.18. The phone has 64GB of onboard storage, which should be the starting configuration. However, there’s no information about the RAM, or the battery. December is only a weeks away, so we should find out all the details soon.
