Redmi K50 Pro+ tipped to get Dimensity 9000 SoC
The Redmi K50 Pro+ is expected to launch soon in China, and thereafter in various global markets (likely under other brandings). The Redmi K50 Pro+ — which will be among the top-tier models in the series — will be getting the Dimensity 9000 chipset, according to a GizChina report. This report comes fresh after Lu Weibing, a senior executive at Xioami, in an interview highlighted the chipset. While the top boss at Xiaomi didn’t pinpoint the Redmi K50 Pro+ as the beneficiary of the new chipset, one can make an educated guess that the comment likely meant the Redmi K50+.
The Dimensity 9000 hails from MediaTek’s newest line of processors and is fabricated using the latest state-of-the-art 4nm fabrication process. It ranks high in terms of power and efficiency. The processing unit consists of a single Cortex-X2 super core, three Cortex-A710 large cores, and four Cortex-A510 small cores. This system is paired to the Mali-G710 GPU. This silicon wafer is manufactured by TSMC.
That said, the vanilla Redmi K50 is expected to be powered by the Snapdragon 870 from Qualcomm, and the Redmi K50 Pro will likely get the Dimensity 8100 SoC from MediaTek.
