The Redmi K50 series was introduced back in February and later in March, it expanded the lineup with two models: the Redmi K50 and Redmi K50 Pro. Now, almost four months later, the company’s general manager, Lu Weibing took to Weibo to tease a new smartphone launch in China. We speculate this could be the Redmi K50S series. The lineup could include the Redmi K50S and Redmi K50S Pro. The top executive has confirmed the Redmi flagship device will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor.

Redmi K50S launch officially teased

Redmi general manager Lu Weibing has officially teased new Redmi K-series phones on Weibo. While he hasn’t mentioned the moniker of the phone, we believe it could be the Redmi K50S and Redmi K50S Pro. The latter was recently spotted on the 3C certification database with the model number 22081212C. The listing revealed it would come with a 120W HyperCharge fast charging support. It is rumoured to be equipped with a 5000mAh battery.

Besides this, the Redmi K50S Pro might be the first smartphone with a 200MP camera setup, in case it launches before the Moto Edge 30 Ultra (aka the Moto X30 Pro) and is said to come with a 120Hz LTPO AMOLED display. The phone is said to pack 256GB of onboard storage. It will be a 5G-enabled phone and might run on Android 13 OS out of the box.

Xiaomiui has previously claimed the Xiaomi Redmi K50S is codenamed “diting” and has the model number 22071212AC, while the Redmi K50S Pro carries the codename “Plato”. There are high chances the Redmi K50S and Redmi K50S Pro might debut as the Xiaomi 12T and Xiaomi 12T Pro in global markets in the near future but can’t be said for certain just yet.
