“It’s unclear at this point how the two Redmi flagship phones will differ from each another”
May 2019 will be one of the busiest months this year so far, with as many as five flagship smartphones launching across the globe. That’s not counting the other mid-range devices also launching this month. Expected among them is a Redmi flagship phone, although the official launch date is still not revealed yet. The Redmi handset is supposed to go up against the Realme X flagship with similar specifications. Now, a new report by MySmartPrice says that there will be two Redmi flagships instead of just one. As per the source of the leak, there will be three colour options and four storage variants of both the handsets.
Now, assuming both these will be flagships, we can expect the Snapdragon 855 SoC in both the phones. It remains to be seen how Redmi will differentiate between the two models. However, the source says the three colour options will be – Red, Blue, and Carbon Fiber. As for RAM and storage variants, the phones will reportedly come in the following configurations: 6GB + 64GB, 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 256GB.
It’s well documented at this point that one of the Redmi flagships will have a pop-up camera design, but now that we know that there are two flagships, it’s a bit confusing to say which of the two will have it (or maybe both). It’s also officially confirmed that one of them will have an in-display fingerprint reader and an ultra-wide angle lens. Xiaomi is reportedly be hosting an event on May 13th in China, so we might get to know more about the launch details of these two flagships.
