After launching the Redmi Note 8 and Redmi Note 8 Pro smartphones in China, the brand seems to be prepping the launch of another handset as a mysterious Redmi model has now been spotted on the EEC certification website with model number “M1908C3XG”. The Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro came with M1908C3JE and M1908C3IC model numbers, looking closely its obvious the M1908Cxxx” is a constant, while the last three characters differ. Apart from the “M1908C3XG”, the other Redmi models such as “M1906G7G”, “M1908C3IG” and “M1908C3KG” have also passed EEC certification. Unfortunately, the EEC certification did not reveal any details regarding the smartphone.
Redmi is currently known to be working on two mid-range phones Redmi 8A and Redmi 8 Pro. While the former is an entry-level phone that is said to come with Snapdragon 439 SoC, 4GB RAM, 64GB storage, a mammoth 5,000mAh battery and house a 6.2-inch HD+ display. On the other hand, the Redmi 8 Pro will have connectivity options such as Bluetooth 4.2, dual-band Wi-Fi, and USB Type-C charging port. Both the phones are likely to run on Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 on top. We should know more information in the next few weeks.
The recently launched Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro rocks quad-camera setup, waterdrop notch to accommodate the selfie snapper and both the phones run on Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 on top. The Pro model rocks a 64MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor, while the standard Note 8 packs a 48MP Sony IMX586 sensor. These are not expected to launch in India in the next 2-3 months.
