Redmi Note 11 series global launch confirmed on January 26th

The company shared the announcement on its official Twitter handle with a teaser image reading “Rise To The Challenge” and what seems to be the flat edges of the upcoming Redmi Note 11 smartphone. The microsite for the launch event reads, “Rise to the ultra-clear challenge”, “Rise to the super-smooth challenge”, and “Rise to the hyper-speed challenge”, which seem to be subtle nods to the upgrades we can expect from the series.

To be clear, this isn’t the India debut for the three smartphones, and we would have to wait a little longer for that. The vanilla Redmi Note 11 has already been launched as POCO M4 Pro and Redmi Note 11T. Meanwhile, the Redmi Note 11 Pro and Redmi Note 11 Pro+ were recently introduced as Xiaomi 11i and Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge in India, respectively.

The Redmi Note 11 sports a 6.6-inch LCD display with 90Hz refresh rate, FHD+ resolution, and punch-hole design. It runs the Android 11-based MIUI 12.5 skin and is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 810 SoC with 5G support. The smartphone comes in 4GB + 128GB, 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 256GB variants, all without storage expansion support.

On the camera front, Redmi Note 11 comes with a 50MP primary sensor and an 8MP depth-sensing lens for portrait shots. Sitting in the front is a 16MP camera for video calls and selfies.

Coming to the battery, the smartphone features a 5,000mAh cell with 33W charging, rated to take the cell from 0 to 100 percent in 62 minutes. A side-mounted fingerprint sensor, 3.5mm jack, stereo speakers, IP53 water-resistance rating, and USB Type-C port are also part of the package.

Coming to the Redmi Note 11 Pro specifications, the smartphone will feature a marginally bigger 6.67-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with 120Hz refresh rate, up to 1,200nits brightness, HDR 10 support, and Gorilla Glass 5 protection. It packs the MediaTek Dimensity 920 processor inside and is available in 6GB + 128GB, 8GB + 128GB, and 8GB + 256GB configurations. It is also based on Android 11 OS, with MIUI 12.5 skin on top.

In the photography department, the Pro model offers a 108MP primary + 8MP ultrawide (120-degree) + 2MP macro setup. A 16MP sensor can be found on this smartphone as well.

Keeping the lights running is the 5,160mAh battery with 67W charging that is claimed to go from 0 to 100 percent in 43 minutes. JBL tuned stereo speakers, side-mounted fingerprint reader, and USB Type C can be found on the Redmi Note 11 Pro Max, but there’s no IP53 rating for protection against the elements.

The Redmi Note 11 Pro and Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G were spotted recently on the IMEI database with model numbers 2201116TG and 2201116SG, respectively. The Redmi Note 11 Pro 5G (2201116SG) was also spotted on the FCC listing, revealing that the smartphone will come in three storage variants: 6GB+64GB, 6GB+128GB, and 8GB+128GB. Further, it’s said to have MIUI 13 out of the box, along with a 4,700mAh battery with 67W fast charging.

The remaining model in the series is Redmi Note 11 Pro+, which has the same display, chipset, RAM/ storage variants, camera setup, and connectivity features as its Pro sibling. The difference between the two lies in the battery capacity charging: the Redmi Note 11 Pro+ has a 4,500mAh battery with 120W charging, the fastest on any mainstream phone. With this combination, the smartphone is said to go from naught to 100 percent in just 15 minutes.
