Design

While the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge comes with a boxy design with a flat-edged frame and a flat rear panel, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus gets a curved rear panel. Both devices offer Gorilla Glass 5-protected display. Coming to the rear, there is a large protruding camera housing on both devices with the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus having three separate cutouts for each lens. Moving on to the top, we can find an IR blaster, a 3.5mm headphone jack, and a secondary speaker grille on both handsets. Other similarities in terms of design include a type-C charging port at the bottom along with volume and power buttons on the right side.

The colour options of the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus include Obsidian Black, Arctic White, and Iceberg Blue, while the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge comes in Camo Green, Stealth Black, Purple Mist, and Pacific Pearl shades.

Display

Coming to the display, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus flaunts a 6.67-inch FHD+ Super AMOLED display with a 120Hz variable refresh rate along with DCI-P3 color gamut, Dolby Vision, and 900 nits peak brightness support. Meanwhile, the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge carries a similar 6.67-inch FHD+ AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate but without a variable refresh rate which means it doesn’t switch between 30Hz, 60Hz, 90Hz, and 120Hz like the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus. Furthermore, it also lacks Dolby Vision support but makes up for it by having up to 1200 nits of peak brightness. It’s also worth noting that the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus’ panel comes with 1920Hz high-frequency PWM dimming technology that prevents eye strain when using the device in dim environments.

Processor, RAM, and storage

The Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus gets its prowess from the MediaTek Dimensity 1080 chipset which is ever so slightly improved from the Dimensity 920 SoC found on Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge. Both the chips are based on a 6nm process and come with ARM Mali-G68 MC4 GPU paired with UFS 2.2 internal storage. Speaking of storage, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus comes with 8GB RAM with 256GB ROM and 12GB RAM with 256GB ROM storage options. In comparison, the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge is offered in 6GB RAM with 128GB ROM option along with an 8GB RAM with 128GB ROM storage variant.

With 5G attracting immense popularity over the past few months, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus supports 10 5G bands while the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge supports eight 5G bands.

Camera

In the camera department, the Redmi Note 12 Pro Plus features a class-leading 200MP primary sensor with optic image stabilisation (OIS). Such high a resolution camera allows the device to capture crisp and detailed shots which don’t degrade in quality when zoomed or cropped. However, the main camera on the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge is no slouch either as it also boasts a high-res 108MP Samsung HM2 sensor but misses out on OIS which could give the Redmi device a slight edge when it comes to clicking night shots and recording videos. As for the secondary cameras, both devices feature an 8MP ultra-wide angle sensor along with a 2MP f/2.4 macro lens. For selfies and video calls, there is a 16MP shooter present within the centered punch-hole of both Redmi Note 12 Pro+ and Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge.

For an enhanced camera experience, the camera apps on both handsets are pre-loaded with various modes for users to play around with such as Vlog Mode, Starry Sky, Kaleidoscope, and Neon Trails.
