“Redmi Note 7 sales crossed 1 million units even though the company is yet to bring it to other major markets, such as India, within a short period”
Xiaomi’s Redmi series has been very popular with the masses ever since its inception, especially in price sensitive markets. The Chinese company reportedly released the sales figures for its Redmi Note 7 smartphone for the January 15th to February 11th period, highlighting its dominance in the market. According to Xiaomi, Redmi Note 7 has sold 1 million units in China within a month of its launch. With Redmi being spun off as a separate brand, it seems it has not lost any ground with the fans at least.
Redmi Note 7 is Redmi’s first smartphone after becoming an independent brand and is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 SoC coupled with up to 6GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. The budget smartphone uses a 6.3-inch FHD+ LCD display with 1,080 × 2,340-pixel resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. The display comes with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and a waterdrop notch at the top to house the front camera.
In terms of cameras, Redmi Note 7 features a dual rear camera setup, which includes a 48-megapixel primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture and a 5-megapixel secondary sensor for depth sensing, backed by dual LED flash. For selfies, the handset makes use of a 13-megapixel sensor. It has a 4,000mAh battery and the standard connectivity suite.
The Redmi Note 7 price in China starts at RMB 999, which roughly amounts to 10,400 in Indian currency. Xiaomi is expected to launch the handset in India soon, and considering the love its Redmi Note has received in the past, we can expect similar numbers in the country, provided the brand can keep up with the demand.
