“The Redmi Note 8 Pro could be the world’s first smartphone with 64-megapixel Samsung ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor”
The Redmi Note 8 series launch date has been confirmed as August 29th by the company. Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has shared a poster on Weibo, which reveals that the Redmi Note 8 Pro with quad rear camera setup and 64-megapixel primary camera will be unveiled at an event in China. The handset will be accompanied by the regular Redmi Note 8 smartphone, which is also expected to features four camera sensors at the back, and the Redmi TV. The image further confirms that the upcoming series will have a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner and a glass-sandwich design for a premium look.
The major highlight of the Redmi Note 8 series is going to be the camera. The successor to the Redmi Note 7 series will pack as many as four cameras at the back, which will be the first in the lineup, and the ‘Pro’ model will have a whopping 64MP primary camera. The company has already confirmed that the sensor will be Samsung’s latest ISOCELL Bright GW1 sensor with f/1.7 aperture of 0.8-micrometer (μm) pixel that is 38 percent bigger than 48MP sensor. The sensor is touted to capture images with “unprecedented details” and use pixel-binning 4-in-1 technology for improved low-light shots.
Apart from this, rumours are that the Redmi Note 8 Pro will arrive with Snapdragon 700 series chipset and a massive battery cell. The handset may boot Android 9.0 Pie with MIUI 10 on top and pop-up selfie camera design, similar to the Redmi K20 series. Redmi General Manager, Lu Weibing has already confirmed that the Redmi Note 8 Pro will offer clearer images, longer battery life, high screen-to-body ratio and will feel better in the hand.
