“Xiaomi India marketing head Anuj Sharma in a tweet said the rumours of the Redmi Note 8 Pro Snapdragon 730 variant are unfounded”
Redmi Note 8 Pro and Redmi Note 8 were launched in India back in October. The former comes with a MediaTek Helio G90T instead of Snapdragon processor. There were reports last week that suggested that the brand is working on a Snapdragon 730 variant of the Redmi Note 8 Pro as a mysterious Xiaomi phone received China’s 3C certification. However, clearing the air, Xiaomi India’s head of marketing Anuj Sharma responded to the rumours in a tweet, clarifying there’s no such Redmi Note 8 Pro model in the works and that speculations of an upcoming Snapdragon 730-powered variant are untrue. This would disappoint Xiaomi fans who were really waiting for a Pro variant with Snapdragon chipset.
