Redmi Note 9 5G and Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G prices, specifications, and availability details have been announced in China. The handsets are the first 5G offerings in the brand’s Note series and succeed the Redmi Note 8 and Note 8 Pro, respectively. As expected, the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G specifications remain pretty much the same as the Mi 10T Lite. The smartphone highlights 108MP quad rear cameras, Snapdragon 750G SoC, 120Hz display, among other things. The Redmi Note 9 5G specs, on the other hand, include the MediaTek Dimensity 800U SoC, 5,000mAh battery, and 48MP triple rear cameras. Both phones tout punch-hole design and a circular camera module at the back. Xiaomi also announced the Redmi Note 9 4G smartphone as well.

Redmi Note 9 5G price is set at RMB 1299 (approx Rs 14,600) for the 6GB + 128GB variant, RMB 1499 (apprix Rs 16,900) for the 8GB + 128GB option, and RMB 1699 (approx Rs 19,000) for the 8GB + 256GB model. The Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G price is set at RMB 1599 (approx Rs 18,000) for the 6GB + 128GB variant, RMB 1799 (approx Rs 20,000) for the 8GB 128GB option and RMB 1999 (approx Rs 22,500) for the 8GB + 256GB configuration. There is no word on Redmi Note 9 5G and Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G India launch yet.
Redi Note 9 4G price in China starts from RMB 999 (approx Rs 11,200) and goes all the way up to RMB 1499 (approx Rs 16,900).
Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G specifications
Starting with Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G, the handset packs a 6.67-inch FHD+ IPS display with a 120Hz refresh rate and a centered punch-hole for the selfie camera. The phone is powered by Snapdragon 750G SoC coupled with Adreno 619 GPU, 6GB LPDDR4 RAM, and up to 128GB UFS 2.1 storage options that should be further expandable via a microSD card. Software-wise, the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G boots MIUI 12 with Android 10 out of the box.
The other specifications of the Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G include quad rear cameras comprising a 108MP primary sensor, a 13MP ultra-wide lens, a 2MP macro unit for close up, and a 2MP depth sensor for portrait shots. Upfront, it packs a 16MP front-facing camera for selfies and video chats. The phone is driven by a 4,820mAh battery with 33W fast charging support. Other features include a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for security and connectivity options such as 5G, 4G LTE, NFC, dual-band Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, GPS, and USB Type-C port for charging and data sync.

The Redmi Note 9 5G, on the other hand, employs a 6.53-inch FHD+ punch-hole display with a standard 60Hz refresh rate and LCD panel. At its core lies mid-range MediaTek Dimensity 800U SoC paired with 8GB RAM. In optics, the handset sports a triple rear camera setup that bears a 48MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 2MP depth snapper. The front camera of the Note 9 5G gets a 13MP snapper for selfies and video calling. The smartphone packs a 5,000mAh battery to keep things up and running. The handset runs Android 10-based MIUI 12 out of the box and sports a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, much like Redmi Note 9 Pro 5G. Lastly, the phone measures 161.96mm × 77.25mm × 9.20mm and weighs 200 grams.

The brand also announced the Redmi Note 9 4G, which looks different from the Redmi Note 9 that launched in India. As the name suggests, the device only supports 4G only and is the most affordable device of the three phones. It sports a waterdrop display at the front and a triple camera system in a rectangular module at the back. The phone packs a 6,000mAh battery and features stereo speakers. The smartphone is powered by the Snapdragon 662 SoC paired with 128GB internal storage.
