Redmi Note 9S is scheduled to go official later today as Xiaomi has been teasing its launch in Singapore for a while. Additionally, the device will also make its way to Malaysia and Pakistan as well. The teaser images so far confirmed the Redmi Note 9S would feature a punch-hole cutout for the front-facing camera, similar to the Redmi Note 9 Pro-series that was launched in India earlier this month, and quad cameras at the back. There are chances it could be a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro.

The Redmi Note 9S launch will be live-streamed through Xiaomi Singapore official Facebook Page at 05:30 pm IST today. Xiaomi’s social media handles of Pakistan and China have also teased the launch of Redmi Note 9S.

The Redmi Note 9S 4GB+64GB variant to reportedly cost RM 699 (around Rs. 12,000).

As said, the Redmi Note 9S features a quad-camera setup at the back and a punch-hole cutout at the front to house the selfie camera. The phone is expected to a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro with few changes. It was reportedly spotted on Malaysia’s Lazada platform with a similar design as the Redmi Note 9 Pro. This means it’ll ship with a 48MP primary camera, a 5020mAh battery and a 6.67-inch full HD+ display. The 4GB+64GB variant to reportedly cost RM 699 (around Rs. 12,000), there could be other variants as well.

The Geekbench listing of the Redmi Note 9S suggests it’ll boot Android 10 OS, 6GB RAM and the motherboard is listed as ‘curtana‘, which is an identifier for the Qualcomm Snapdragon 665 SoC. While it was same for the Redmi Note 9 Pro on Geekbench, the phone eventually launched with the more-powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G SoC.
