Xiaomi has launched the Redmi Note 9S smartphone in Singapore. As reported previously, the handset is a rebranded version of the Redmi Note 9 Pro smartphone, which was launched in India earlier this month. The Redmi Note 9S ships with 6.67-inch dot notch display, 48MP quad rear cameras, Snapdragon 720G chipset, and 3D curved design with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 layer both on the front and back. The phone is also backed by an massive 5,020mAh battery that supports 18W fast charging support with compatible charger bundled inside the box. Software-wise, the Redmi Note 9S runs Android 10-based MIUI 11 out of the box.

Redmi Note 9S price, availability

The Redmi Note 9S has been priced at RM 799 (~Rs 14,000) for the 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. The phone’s 6GB RAM + 128GB storage option will set you back to RM 899 (~Rs 15,799). The handset comes in Aurora Blue, Interstellar Grey, and Glacier White colour options.

As far as the specifications go, the Redmi Note 9S comes clad in a glass sandwich design with a 6.67-inch punch-hole display that bears FHD+ (1080 x 2,400p) resolution and 20:9 aspect ratio. The phone has the latest 2.3GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon 720G octa-core chipset paired with up to 6GB RAM and up to 128GB user-expandable storage (up to 512GB using a dedicated microSD card slot) under the hood. The quad rear cameras of the phone consist of 48MP Samsung ISOCELL GM2 primary sensor with f/1.79 aperture, Super Stabilization, PDAF, slow-mo, and 4K video recording at 30fps. This is assisted by 8MP ultra-wide sensor with 120-degree field-of-view, 5MP macro lens, and 2MP depth sensor. For selfies and video chats, there is a 16MP AI sensor with palm shutter and portrait mode on the front.

The Redmi Note 9 Pro runs MIUI 11 with Android 10 out of the box. The entire setup is driven by a 5,020mAh battery with 18W fast charging. The handset also features an Aura Balance design, P2i splash-proof coating, bottom-firing speakers, and dual microphones with noise cancellation. There is a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for security and connectivity options such as 4G LTE, dual SIM slots, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS/ GLONASS, VoWiFi, 3.5mm headphone jack, and USB Type-C charging port. Lastly, the Redmi Note 9 Pro measures 165.7 x 76.6 x 8.8mm and weighs 209 grams.
