Redmi K50 specification details
The Redmi K50 has faced a fresh set of leaks courtesy of Digital Chat Station. The lates info suggests that the new Redmi phone will come with 100W fast charging. In comparison, the Redmi K40 that is currently available in the market supports only up to 67W fast charging. This is also notable because it’s the first time this particular family of devices will hit triple-digit charging speeds. Earlier this capability was only reserved for some specific higher-end Mi and Black Shark devices, which can charge at a whopping 120W.
Another area of improvement comes in the department of build, specifically IP certification. The Redmi K50 will be IP68 certified with dust and water resistance, which is a step up from the Redmi K40’s basic splash and dust resistance rating of IP53. The Redmi K50 is also expected to get symmetrical stereo speakers, which could mean that the speakers will be designed and placed in such a way that provides a more balanced sound.
We had already covered leaks suggesting the 6.7-inch FHD+ 120Hz OLED display that the Redmi K50 is going to get. The previous leak also suggested that the Redmi K50 would be Snapdragon 870 powered. Now we have more information that there will be three models under the Redmi K50 brand – one will be powered by the upcoming Snapdragon 898 SoC, the second could be powered by the current best Snapdragon 888 chipset and lastly, as we had reported earlier will be using the Snapdragon 870 chip.
It is still not clear if all devices in the lineup will support the 100W fast charging solution. The top-spec model is likely to benefit from a 108MP main camera unit while the rest will settle for a 48MP sensor. The Redmi K50 will go on sale in China and then will be launched in other markets with slight or no changes under different monikers.
