Redmi has officially confirmed that the Redmi Turbo 5 will launch in India this month, marking the debut of the Turbo series in the country. With the new smartphone, Redmi appears to be making a stronger push into the performance-focused segment, an area currently dominated by brands such as iQOO and OnePlus. The company is positioning the Turbo 5 as its fastest Redmi smartphone yet, targeting mobile gamers, power users, and buyers looking for flagship-level performance without stepping into premium flagship pricing.

The Redmi Turbo 5 is scheduled to launch in India on June 16th. The handset will be available through Amazon India and is confirmed to arrive in three colour options: White, Green, and Black.
While Redmi has not revealed the complete specifications yet, the smartphone is official in China, giving us an idea of what to expect. The Redmi Turbo 5 is expected to feature a 6.59-inch flat 1.5K AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate. The handset is also tipped to pair the Dimensity 8500 Ultra with LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.1 storage, which could put it in direct competition with devices such as the iQOO 15R and OnePlus 15R.
One of its biggest highlights could be the large 7,560mAh battery, which is on par with what most rivals offer. The battery is expected to support 100W wired fast charging, potentially delivering multi-day battery life without lengthy charging times.
For photography, the phone is tipped to feature a 50MP Sony LYT-600 primary camera alongside an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, while a 20MP front camera is expected to handle selfies and video calls. It could also launch with IP66, IP68, and IP69 ratings for dust and water resistance.
The Redmi Turbo 5 could emerge as one of the most compelling performance-focused smartphones in its segment, provided it’s aggressively priced. Buyers looking for strong gaming performance, a large battery, and premium build quality may find it worth waiting for over alternatives from iQOO and OnePlus.
